You've Got a Friend in Me - Randy Newman

06/29/1995

Awe! What a wonderful song. This song represents my feelings towards Mitch. No matter what he can always look at me as a friend, and I will always be there for him through the good and bad. "You've got troubles, and I've got 'em, too

there isn't anything I wouldn't do for you" is a great line in the song that perfectly explains our friendship  because he is helping me through my sickness and making it more manageable, and I am helping him with his life issues and teaching him influential lessons.

[Verse 1]
You've got a friend in me
You've got a friend in me
When the road looks rough ahead
And you're miles and miles from your nice warm bed
You just remember what your old pal said
Boy, you've got a friend in me
Yeah, you've got a friend in me
[Verse 2]
You've got a friend in me
You've got a friend in me
You've got troubles, and I've got 'em, too
There isn't anything I wouldn't do for you
We stick together and we see it through
'Cause you've got a friend in me
You've got a friend in me
[Bridge]
Some other folks might be a little bit smarter than I am
Bigger and stronger too, maybe
But none of them will ever love you the way I do
It's me and you, boy
[Verse 3]
And as the years go by
Our friendship will never die
You're gonna see, it's our destiny
You've got a friend in me
You've got a friend in me
You've got a friend in me
